Bio

Carl W. Schrock, the son of Elmer and Alice (Fross) Schrock, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on December 21, 1901, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 17, 1986, at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 26 days. He grew up and attended country school near Giltner, and worked on the family farm north of Giltner. On January 2, 1923, he was united in marriage to Agnes Jemison, near Giltner. She preceded him in death on February 3, 1983. Carl began farming on the north edge of Giltner in 1938, and in 1964 he retired. After the death of his wife in 1983, he moved to Alda to live with his son, and later he moved to his daughter's home in Grand Island. He had served on the Giltner school board for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister Luella Mae in infancy. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son Don of Alda; his daughter Leola Fries of Grand Island; one brother Russell of Aurora; 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 20, 1986 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
