Bio
Clarence Peter Puetz was born December 10th, 1922 to William and Mary Puetz of Ethan, SD. He married Josephine Herrmann on February 7th, 1946 in Whittier, CA. Clarence and Jo moved back to Mitchell in 1951 and together started Puetz Construction/Puetz Corporation. Clarence dedicated over 45 years to building the company into the successful family business it is today. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many close friends. He was an avid hunter, golfer, fisherman, and card player. Clarence was an extremely dedicated father and husband and played an active role in the care giving of his wife during the last years of her life. He was also a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Clarence is survived by his son, Wayne and his wife, Mary, Mitchell, SD; four grandchildren: Amy Novak and her husband Ken, Mitchell, SD, Emily Reid and her husband Sam, Minneapolis, MN, Melanie Mullenmeister and her husband Scott, Mitchell, SD and Mark Puetz and wife Katie, Mitchell, SD. He has 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters: Devonia Oster, Mitchell, SD, and Bernice Feiner and husband Fran, Ethan, SD; and three brothers: Clyde Puetz and wife Addie, Brookings, SD, Englebert Puetz and wife Dolores, Marshall, MN, and George Puetz and wife Mavis, Britton, SD, as well as two sister-in-laws, Marie Gordon, Sioux Falls, SD, and Virginia Hall and husband, Don, Steptoe, WA, and 3 brothers-in-law, Elmer Hermann, and friend Pat, Mitchell, SD, Charlie Herrmann and wife, Shirley, Mitchell, SD, and Jim Herrmann and wife, Darlene, Sioux Falls, SD, and 68 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, and one brother, Harold Puetz, and three sisters; Genevieve Haupt, Barb Bowar, and Esther Claseman.
