Bio
Daughter of Frank & Anna (Mach) Vanek. She graduated from Prague High School in 1937. She worked as a nanny and a telephone operator after high school. On March 17, 1942, she married John A. Navrkal in Wahoo, Nebraska. While John was serving his country during WW II, Martha worked as a nanny in Omaha and Wahoo. Upon John's return from military service, they dairy farmed in the Prague, Schuyler and Bellwood, Nebraska area. They moved into Bellwood in 1966. Martha moved to Columbus in 2000. Martha enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning and playing cards. She was a member of the Bellwood United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group. Martha is survived by: Son - Jerome (Joyce) Navrkal of Schuyler, NE Daughter - Shirley (Lloyd) Spencer of Beaverton, MI Daughter - Rogene (Ken) Schaer of Columbus, NE Son - Larry Navrkal of Columbus ,NE Daughter - Patricia Navrkal of Bruno, NE 11 Grandchildren 2 Step Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren 4 Step Great Grandchildren 1 Great-Great Granddaughter Sister - Adeline (John) Hines of Morse Bluff, NE Martha was preceded in death by: Parents - Frank and Anna (Mach) Vanek Husband - John A.
