☆~ VETERAN, KOREAN WAR (1950-1953) ~☆ Peter Paul Mimick Jr was born Jul 5, 1928, in Columbus, the son of Peter Paul Mimick Sr and Rose Marie Siemek. Peter Jr died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Countryside Home, Madison, Nebraska. Peter attended school in Columbus at St. Bonaventure and then served in the U.S. Army from 1950 – 1951. He then started Mimick Motor Co. in Madison in 1951 and operated this business until the end of February 2005. While in the car business Peter served on the National Ford Dealers council and was a member of the Nebraska New Car Dealers Association. He also owned several Land Development Companies in Arizona, South Dakota, and numerous places in Nebraska, along with several car rental agencies in Colorado and Nebraska. Peter married Charlotte Mae Weiland Prechel on October 31, 1955 at St. Leonard's Catholic Church. Peter was a member of and past commander of the American Legion Post 35, served on the Board of Directors for Mount Marty College, Yankton, was a Director, Vice President and President of Northeast Community College Foundation for 30 years, Madison Chamber of Commerce, a lifelong member of the Elks Club, and an Honorary member of Knights of Columbus. Peter is survived by: wife, Charlotte Mimick of Madison; children, Pamela Kurpgeweit of Elkhart, IN, Debra Mimick and Vince Berger of Lynnwood, WA, Peter and Diane Mimick, III of St. Mary's GA, Christine and Larry Keller of Norfolk, and Jeffrey Mimick and his fiancé Cindy Dunklau of Stanton,; sister Loraine Henke of Columbus and 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Burial was in the St. Leonard's Catholic Cemetery, Madison, NE. with military rites by American Legion Post 35, VFW Post 5763, and the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard.
