Theodore Kurlinski **World War II Veteran** June 07, 1921 - January 27, 2009 Rhinelander, Wisconsin Theodore V. Kurlinski, age 87, of Rhinelander, died on January 27, 2009, in Rhinelander. He was born on June 7, 1921 in Sugar Camp, WI to Stanley and Julia (Mazurkiewicz) Kurlinski. Ted attended schools in the Sugar Camp area and then served with the US Army during WW II in the Asian and Pacific Theatre's. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Wisconsin and married the former Dorothy Poehler on May, 19th 1945 in Sturgeon Bay, WI. Ted had been employed by the Rhinelander Telephone Company but after their marriage they moved to Milwaukee where Ted was employed by Wisconsin Electric for over 35 years. After his retirement in 1983 they returned to Rhinelander where he has lived since. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years. He was a proud member of the CCC's and also the American Legion. Ted enjoyed volunteering many hours at the logging museum in Pioneer Park. He loved being in the Northwoods for all four seasons and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his two daughters Julia and Mary Kurlinski and his two sons Frederick (Mary) Kurlinski and Stanley (Linda) Kurlinski all of Milwaukee, his five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his brother Richard (Sandra) Kurlinski of Milwaukee and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy on October 15, 1995, his daughter Elizabeth in 1989, four sisters and five brothers. Visitation for Ted will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend David Sternberg officiating. Committal services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, WI with interment to follow. A memorial will be established in Ted's name and can be directed to his family. The Carlson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the Kurlinski family.
