Bio

Regina Helen Maresh, 82, of Granbury passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, in Granbury. Service: 10 a.m. Friday in the Greenacres Mausoleum Chapel. The Rev. Mel Bessellieu will officiate. Interment: Greenacres Memorial Park. Rosary: 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born April 2, 1926, in Sugar Camp, Wis., to Stanislaus and Julia Mazurkiewicz Kurlinski. She married Alphonse H. Maresh on Nov. 6, 1954, in Limestone, Maine. Mrs. Maresh graduated from Rhinelander High School in Rhinelander, Wis., in 1944. She entered the Air Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged as a captain in 1955. She was a certified registered nurse anesthetist, obtaining her degree from the U.S. Army Anesthesia School-Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., from 1952-1953. She worked in various hospitals during her career, including St. Joseph's Hospital in Fort Worth, Johnson County Memorial Hospital and Hood General Hospital. She was a Roman Catholic. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphonse Maresh, in 1971; brothers, Walter, George, Billy, Joe and Harry Kurlinski; and sisters, Alice Novak, Jennie Kurlinski and Lucille Knoche. Survivors: Her sons, Robert Maresh of Austin and Greg Maresh of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Jo Marie Maresh of Granbury; granddaughter, Haley Maresh; great-granddaughter, Brittney Hart; brothers, Ted Kurlinski of Rhinelander, Wis., and Richard Kurlinski of Milwaukee, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
