Bio
Mickey Avey, 53, of Ansley died Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Church in Ansley, with the Rev. Mel Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Kent Cemetery near Taylor. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Govier Brothers Mortuary and from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Mr. Avey was born on Feb. 14, 1951, to Ralph and Martha (Sanders) Avey at Alliance. Survivors of the immediate family include his mother of Ravenna; four brothers, Pat Avey of Kearney, Loren Avey of Sidney, Clifford Avey of Kearney and Ron Avey of Mandan, N.D.; and a sister, Shelba Newby of Cameron, Mo.
