South Missourian-Democrat, Alton, Mo, Nov 4, 1963 - Blufford Allen Pierce, 2nd son of James & Jane (Ledbetter) Pierce was born Nov. 10, 1886, Shannon Co, Mo., and died Nov 2, 1962. He married Florence Summers on Feb 21, 1909, Knot, Mo. Eleven children were born to this marriage, five died as infants. He is survived by his wife, 4 daughters, Opal Nanney, Ella Smotherman, Sylvia Bay, Faye Gull, and 2 sons, Ray and Omer Pierce. Also 3 brothers, Walter, Richard and Arthur, and 4 sisters, Nellie Layman, Bertha Nicholson, Gertie DePriest and Lettie Layman, and 22 grandchildren ad 13 gr-grandchildren.
