Thanks to contributor #46777470 The Columbus Telegram Online Columbus, NE Died on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 Daniel B. Dvorak BRAINARD - Daniel B. Dvorak, 83, of Brainard, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Services are 10a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard, with the Msgr. Adrian Herbek officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery, with military rites by Rejda American Legion Post 273 of Brainard. Visitation is until 6 p.m. today, with a 6 p.m. rosary, at Holesovsky Mortuary in Brainard. Mr. Dvorak was born February 28, 1921, in Brainard to Peter and Frances (Divis) Dvorak. He attended Oak Creek County School in Butler County. He married Elsie Polivka May 18, 1946, in Lincoln. He resided in Butler County all of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator for Butler County Roads Department. He served in the Army during World War II as a staff sergeant. He was a member of the church, ZCBJ Lodge, past commander of Redja American Legion Post No. 273, and served on the Village Board. He was mayor of Brainard for several years. Survivors include his wife; one son, Lyle (Karen) Dvorak of Brainard; one daughter, Lori (Gary) Hottovy of Lincoln; one brother, Paul (Christine) Dvorak of Brainard; three sisters, Agnes Polivka of David City, Julia Kaiser of Omaha and Lillian (Joe) Honvelz of Denton; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Gabriel Dvorak; and three sisters, Hattie Polivka, Frances Berniklou and Antionette Coffey. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
