Banner Press 18 Dec 1971 Joseph Kovar Funeral Planned for Monday DAVID CITY Funeral services for Joseph Cyril Kovar, 90, who died at his home Friday, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Assumption Church, Appleton, Rev. John Rasmussen officiating. The body will lie in state Sunday at Knott Funeral Home, and the parish wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. He was born Nov. 17, 1888, in Butler County, son for Frank and Marie Petru Kovar. He was married to Anna Svoboda, and they farmed in the David City area many years. Surviving are three sons, Marcel and Joseph both of David City, and William of Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. Rose Samek of David City, Ms. Earl (Mary) White of Crete, and Mrs. George (Adeline) Styskal of Grant; a sister Mrs. Rose Dostal of Bruno; and 24 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons and a daughter.
