Contributions to the American Cancer Society. WILLIAM G. KOVAR Jan. 13, 1914 - Feb. 14, 1996 A Mass of Christian burial has been held in Queen of Peace Catholic Church for William G. Kovar, who died of cancer Feb. 14, 1996, at age 82. Mr. Kovar was born Jan. 13, 1914, in David City, Neb. He owned Kovar's Restaurant for 26 years and retired in 1976. A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, he was a member of the church. He lived in Portland area since 1976. He married Winifred Sloan in 1942. Surviving are his wife; sons, Larry J. of Bristol, R.I. and Randal J. of Portland; sisters, Rose Samek of David City, Mary Shandera of Crete, Neb., and Adeline Styskal of Grand, Neb.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Interment was in Riverview Abbey. The family suggests remembrances to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were by the Lombard Little Chapel of the Chimes.
