Truman and his best friend went to a dance one night and decided since times were so hard, to keep from being a burden to thier families, they would hop a train and seek their own fortunes. They did just that, leaving no note. His small amount of personal belongs were gone, leading the family to understad the two had left by train. Years later, the Red Cross tracked him down in Florida. He came home for either his mother's or his father's funeral, promising to keep in touch. In 1983, a California doctor contacted Willard Lester Reneau and said Truman was dead and had died pennyless with only a shoebox of belongs and did Willard want them. He declined and thus is the life of Truman Reneau
