Another Pioneer Gone Home. Mrs. Elizabeth Young Ellsworth, Oldest Daughter of President Brigham Young, and One of Utah's Earliest Settlers, Dies At Her Home in Lewisville, Idaho, in her 78th Year Mrs. Elizabeth Young Ellsworth, who died at Lewisville, Fremont County, Idaho, yesterday (Feb. 2) was the oldest child of the late President Brigham Young. Her mother was Miriam Works Young. She was born in Port Byron, Cayuga County, New York, on Sept. 26, 1825. With her parents she followed the fortunes of the Saints, suffering with them, rejoicing with them. She and her husband, the late Edmund Ellsworth, came to the valley with the second company in 1847. Several of her children passed into the great beyond before she did. She leaves four children, 37 grandchildren, and 50 great-grandchildren. She was a noble woman, of strong character and somewhat reserved nature, doing her duty as she saw it, loving her friends and neighbors, and fearing God. She was a superior woman in every respect and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. It may truly be said of her that she was "A perfect woman, nobly planned, To warn, to comfort, and command." Obituary, published in the Deseret News on February 3, 1903
