Bio

John F. Heard, 56, of Lake Brownwood, a retired foreman for Brown & Root Construction Co., died at 9:27 a.m. Monday at Brownwood Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home. Born Feb. 10 1926, in Robert Lee, he married Margaret McFadden Dec. 1 1951, in Arizona. He was a Navy petty officer first class in World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Ona Heard of Brownwood; two daughters, Shy Massey of Brownwood and Kay Smith of Crane; a brother Jim L. of Mississippi; a sister Juanell Smitherman of Crane; and three grandchildren.
