Bio

Loyd Asbury Heard, 57 a resident here 24 years, died of a heart attack at 9:32 p.m. Thursday in Crane. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Crane Church of Christ, with burial in Crane Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Crites Funeral Home. Mr. Heard came to Crane from Snyder 24 years ago. He had been employed as a truck driver for Crane County. He married Ona Simpson in Robert Lee Dec. 23, 1923. Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Frank Heard of Midland and Jimmy Loyd Heard of Tucson, Ari.; one daughter, Mrs. Juanelle Smitherson of Crane; four brothers, Lawrence Heard of Brownwood, Urban Heard of Big Spring, Jack Heard of Wickett and Dr. W.M. Heard of Coleman; one sister, Mrs. Lola Burns of Sweetwater; and six grandchildren.
