Funeral service for Billie J. Traughber, 70 of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 At Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Dawson, associate pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Traughber passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 in Lawton. Burial will be at Letitia Cemetery. Billie was born on January 28, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Bob and Opal (Lovett) Traughber. He grew up in Lawton, graduating from Lawton High School in 1959. He then begin working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a PBX Installer and later in 1980 when the company split, Billie went to AT & T which was later changed to Lucent Company. He retired in 1990 with 30 years service. He married Virginia (Ryans) Cox on August 30, 1979 in Lawton. He liked to tinker with cars and clocks and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; two sons and a daughter in law; Terry and Kathy Traughber, of North of Lawton and Charles Traughber, of Mansfield, Texas; five daughters, Teresa Traughber, Norman, OKlahoma, Julie Nottingham, of Lawton, Lorie Hutchinson and her husband, Bobby, of Mustang, Oklahoma, Ellen Erwin and her husband, Mac, of Topeka, Kansas and Lisa Shaw, of Fletcher, Oklahoma; his brother and sister in law, Robbie and Barbara Traughber, of Lawton; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jim Traughber and one sister, Rose Marie Parsons.
