Bio

Jessie James Easttam, 84, of Simms, Texas, died Sunday, August 8, 2004, in a local hospital. Mr. Easttam was born October 7, 1919, in Bowie County, Texas. He was retired from Andy's Door Company, former owner/operator of Stop n Shop grocery and a member of Maud Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Hawkins Easttam, Jan. 25, 2001. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Loyd Burns of Simms; one sister, Clemmine Kruse of Simms; and one granddaughter, Beverly Burns of Simms. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Beard officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Simms. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
