Aunt Emma was born in Arkansas in 1910 to Suda Ellen Cotnam Jacobs and John Henry Cotnam. She was briefly married to Walter Davis (b abt 1898) who used the alias of Jack Smith. At some point, Davis' true identity was revealed, and that he was supposedly an escaped felon from Huntsville, TX prison. Turned in to the law, he brought Emma home to her mother and left. The family never heard from again. At this time, Emma took her maiden name back. She suffered from tuberculosis and was taken to Arizona for her health where she died on September 21, 1946. Her mother, Suda Ellen was buried next to her when she passed away a few years later.
