Bio
Daughter of Emil & Bessie (Podany) Hajek. She grew up in Stanton County and graduated from Clarkson High School. She went on and graduated from Wayne State Teachers College in 1942. She taught grade school for two years. She married Leander "Lee" Hajek on August 22, 1946 at St. Cyril & Methodius Church in Clarkson. They lived on a farm north of Clarkson for 15 years before moving to Columbus. In Columbus she went to work for Dale Electronics for 26 years. She was an avid reader and a published author. Erma volunteered at the Hospital Gift Shop and for Meals on Wheels. She loved her grandchildren and grandbabies and was a devoted catholic member of St. Anthony's Church. She enjoyed watching football, dancing, working outdoors, birds, traveling and working on the computer. She is survived by: Husband Leander "Lee" Hajek of Columbus, NE Daughter Jackie (Reuben) Lutjelusche of Centennial, CO Son Tom (Sharon) Hajek of Columbus, NE Daughter Sandy (Mike) Fleming of Columbus, NE Daughter Sheryl (Jim) Moeller of Lincoln, NE Daughter Sally (Jon) Wurdeman of Mitchell, NE Son Phil (Kris) Hajek of Overland Park, KS Brother Leonard Hajek of Clarkson, NE Sister-in-law Virginia Hajek of Waconia, MN 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren She is preceded in death by: Father Emil Hajek Mother Bessie Hajek Brother Allen Hayek Brother In infancy
