Daughter of Fred & Anna (Korger) Bernt. She grew up and attended schools in Polk County. She married Arlo Bray on September 18, 1950 at St. Andrews Church in rural Osceola. They moved to Columbus where she was primarily a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
