Bio

Fred Kamman Expires Suddenly at Wayne Fred Kamman, well known to many Creighton folks and father of Mrs. Ben Effle, residing northwest of Creighton was found dead in his room at Wayne on Monday morning. Heart trouble was given as the cause of his death. Mr. Kamman had been employed by Carlyle Nicholaisen who operates the Palace Cafe at Wayne and had worked Sunday until midnight, apparently in the best of health. Monday morning he did not show up and Mr. Nicholaisen became alarmed as to his whereabouts, started a search and not being able to locate him around town went to his lodging quarters and there found that he has passed on. Death evidently occurred during the morning hours. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon. Rites at the Methodist church here at 1 o'clock will be preceded by services at the Ben Effle home, twelve and a half miles west and three miles north of town at 12 noon. In charge will be the Methodist pastor, the Rev. Minar A. Gerrard. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. The obituary follows: Fred G. Kamman was born Sept. 15, 1865 in New York state and died January 20, 1936 at Wayne, Nebraska. As a child he moved with his parents to Kankakee, Illinois, where he lived until his marriage. He was married to Louise Holzman in 1891. To this union one child was born, Hilda Louise. After their marriage they moved to Chicago. In 1905 they moved to Winnetoon, Nebraska, which was his home until 1925 when he moved to Wayne, where he was living at the time of his death. Those who mourn his passing are his daughter, Mrs. Ben Effle and husband; three grandsons; two sisters; six brothers and many friends.
