Ernest Raymond Matulka, 81, died April 8, 1999 at Seward, Nebraska. He was born September 11, 1917 at Dwight to August and Rose Trousil Matulka. He married Madeline Margaret Klein June 1, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ulysses, Nebraska. Ernest farmed northwest of Ulysses, Nebraska. He also was a former employee of Hughes Brothers, Seward, Nebraska, and Behlen Manufacturing, Columbus, Nebraska. He was a school board member and served on the Ulysses Township Board and various church boards. After he retired from farming, he moved to Seward, and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Seward, Knights of Columbus, AARP and Seward Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by his wife, brothers, Joe and Raymond; infant brother, Jim; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Joe Ostry; brothers-in-law, Emil Kouba and Charles Voboril. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, John and Gwen Matulka, York; Paul and Lori Matulka, Ulysses, and four grandchildren. Sisters and brother-in-law Rose Kouba, Anna Voboril, David City; Adeline and Ernest Turek, Columbus. Brother Edward J. and Dorothy Matulka, Dwight; sisters-in-law Helen Matulka, Lincoln, and Eldeen Matulka, Raymond. Funeral April 12, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Seward. Burial in Seward Cemetery.
