Bio

J. W. Wilson, 83, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at Stonebrook Assisted Living, in Denison. Graveside service will be 12 noon, Monday, June 25, at Waco Memorial Park, with Curtis Holland officiating. Visitation will be 9:30. to 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Connally Compton Funeral Home J. W. was born in Rising Star, Texas, to the late Leonard W. Wilson and Velma Q. Schupp Wilson. He attended Baylor University for two years and was an avid Baylor fan. He worked for the Department of Public Safety in Humble, Pampa, and Waco, and retired as a sergeant after 35 years. He also supported his granddaughters softball tournaments in high school. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvie Wilson; and a granddaughter, Katherine Ewig. J. W. is survived by his son, Hollis W. Wilson, of Bedford; daughter, Evelyn Ewig and husband, Mark, of Denison; grandchildren, Jostin Wilson, Jerrid Wilson, and Sadé Ewig; brother, Larry Wilson, of Jonesboro, Ga.; sister, Wassalee Tucker, of Earley, Texas; and many other relatives and numerous friends.
