Arizona Republic: April 2, 1947: Obituary: Joseph Pinney Joseph Pinney dies in Tempe Tempe: April 1, Joseph T. Pinney, Spanish-American War veteran died early Tuesday morning in a Tempe Rest Home. A retired farmer, he had resided in Tempe for the past 14 years. Mr. Pinney was born May 6, 1877, in Lafayette, Wis. He is survived by five brothers residing out of the state, one of whom, Warren Pinney of Rogers, Arkansas was with him at the time of his death. A niece, Mrs. Everett Fitzgerald resides in Phoenix. Services will be announced later.
