Bio

Wagner Funeral Held for Former Chief of Police Wagner - Funeral services were held Monday at St Johns Catholic Church for PA Phinney, 76, who died at Community Hospital here after a two hour illness. Mr. Phinney was born March 31, 1883 at David City, Nebraska. He farmed at Yankton and in Nebraska, then in Wagner and for a time in Tripp County, South Dakota. He was married Catherine Nolan on January 30 1911. They came to Wagner in 1938 and her served for some years on the police force, part of this time as chief. He retired three years ago. Survivors are his widow; two sons, Ed of Scottsbluff, Neb, and Joe of Ellensburg, Washington, a daughter Mrs. Blanche Foxley of Platte and nine grandchildren.
