Bio

Mabel was born in LeRoy township on the Phelps farm. She attended rural school and high school in Madison. She married Thomas G Oium on August 10, 1943 in Luverne, MN. When she married she was teaching at Madison high school. Tom was employed at Galloway's in the men's store. Later they owned and operated the Oium Department Store in Madison. They had two daughters. Mary Louise died in infancy. Following Tom's death in 1974, she married Walter E Marquart in June of 1976.
