Bio
Nola Mae Sanders was born November 15, 1926, in Turkey Creek, Tri Cities, Henderson County, Texas to the late John Henry and Nancy Josephine Pierce Leopard. Nola died June 8, 2012, in Athens. Nola had been a resident of Henderson County all her life. She was a member of Ash Baptist Church. Nola had been a seamstress most of her life, and she loved to fish. She was sexton of Ash Cemetery over 50 years. Nola was preceded in death by her husband Fulton Sanders; son Donnie Sanders; brothers Vernon Leopard, Charley Leopard, Lewis Leopard, and Eldon Leopard; sisters Ila Parr, Lucille Brown, Clara Trammell, Dora Baxter, and Mary McGee. Survivors include son Jerry Sanders; daughters Gloria Donehoo, Anita Cook, and Martha Withrow; brother Jack Leopard; grandchildren John Sanders, Matt Sanders, Wade Cook, James Sanders, Lori Warren, Crystal Withrow, Susan Withrow, Kathryn Sanders, Kim Sanders and Kevin Sanders; and numerous great-grandchildren.
