Adolph Hanis, 90, of Prague died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at St. Joseph's Villa in David City. He was born Jan. 24, 1915, in Plasi to Vaclav and Caroline (Tomsicek) Hanis. He married Dorie Adam on Sept. 24, 1940, in Seward. They lived and farmed in the Prague area. He also worked for more than 20 years for ASC and worked for Dobson Construction at the Western Electric Plant in Omaha. Survivors include: two daughters, Doris (Mrs. Charles) Hladik of Douglas and Nancy Swanson (and special friend, Paul Kennedy) of Mead; a son, Adolph Jr. (and wife, Jeanne) Hanis of Prague; two sisters, Sylvia Kaplan of Morse Bluff and Judith Snyder of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and four sisters. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kucera Funeral Home in Prague with lay minister Jerry L. Kracl officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and will continue one hour prior to service time, all at the funeral home.
