Mary Nelson was born in 1801 and died on 26 March 1886. Mary was the daughter of Colonel David and Jane (Milligan) Nelson. Hamilton and his wife Mary are buried at Mumford Cemetery next to their infant son Robert and daughter Mary Ann. The son died on 24 Oct 1839 and the daughter, Mary Ann, on 13 Jul 1842. They had four sons and four daughters.
