Bio

Joshua Aaron Bartlett, 12, who has resided at the skilled nursing center of St. Francis hospital since 1987, took his place with the Angels on the morning of his twelfth birthday on February 29, 1996 Josh was the first boy born to his extended family for more than 30 years as a baby he was exploring and energetic. He climbed and laughed. He loved the fishbowl and his parents home. He was forever trying to catch one of them. He loved to help his mom with the laundry. He was either on top of the close pile or underneath. At the age of six months Josh's life took on a special role and he touched the lives of those around him in a way that no other child could. As a result of a crib accident his body suffered. During the next few years his soul continued to influence the lives of each and every person who became his caretaker. Josh was a fighter from the beginning. He proved over and over again to doctors, nurses and family that they were not in control of his fate. Only he and God would decide when his life's work had reached an end he helped all to appreciate life's gifts and to see the world in a way totally different than if we had never known him. He entered this world on February 29th 1984. Born to Doris and Darrell Bartlett in Grand Island Nebraska. He is survived by his parents, as well as his brother Jeremy Bartlett and sister Jessica Bartlett maternal grandparents George and Dorothy Molczyk live in Grand Island. His paternal grandparents Arthur and Alice Bartlett formally of Grand Island, live in or Nebraska. Josh also shared the love of his adopted grandparents Ray and Pat Brahatcek of Grand Island Nebraska, and great grandmother Dorothy Molczyk of wood River, Nebraska. In his journey home he was preceded by his great-grandmother Mabel Bartlett, great-grandfather, Stanley Molczyk, great grandparents Louis and Edith Wendt as well as his grandmother, Verna Bartlett.
