Melvin Sindelar Melvin Sindelar, 66, of Centerville died Feb. 22, 2006, at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Melvin was born Aug. 7, 1939, in Howes, Neb., the son of William and Adela (Marginer) Sindelar. Melvin married Helen Abott Nov. 3, 1962, in Bloomfield. He worked as a hog farmer for Dave Phillips in Stockport. Melvin was a member of the Peoples Baptist Church in Center-ville. Melvin is survived by his mother, Adela Sindelar of Mt. Pleasant; five children, William (Carmen) Sindelar, Donnie (Shyrel) Sindelar and Melvin Sindelar Jr., all of Centerville, Carl (Cathy) Sindelar of Exline and Helen Conn of Centerville; two brothers, Allen Sindelar of Salem and David Sindelar of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Lorretta Sindelar and Patty Yocum of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren, Lizzie, Sarah, Jeff, Josh and Carl Sindelar and Bruce, Brian and Heather Conn, all of Centerville; two step-grandchildren, Emma and Teresa Hermon of Centerville; two great-grandchildren, Tesla Saldana and Jeslyn Sindelar; and two step-great-grandchildren, Destiny Bryan and Kara Saldana. Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sindelar, and his father, William Sindelar. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Walter King officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Centerville. Friends may call at the funeral home all day today, Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Golden Age Care Center and may be left at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
