Services for Lennie J. Stripling, 90, of Baytown will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 1999, at the Navarre Chapel with the Rev. Tim Edwards of First Baptist Church, Highlands, officiating. Lennie died March 22,1999, in a Baytown hospital. She was born May 22, 1908, in Fate, Texas. She was a resident of Baytown for 50 years and was a homemaker, mother, and wife. She also helped run Stripling Outboard Motors which she and husband Bill operated in years past. She was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church while living in Baytown and then of First Baptist Church in Highlands during the eleven years she resided at the Mountbatten House retirement home there. The last two years of her life she was a resident at St. James House in Baytown. Lennie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, W. D. "Bill" Stripling, a son, Gerald David Stripling and his wife, daughter-in-law Carol Stripling, and grandson Keith Stripling, as well as all of her siblings. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Jimmie and Ginger Stripling of Mont Belvieu, Larry and Billie Stripling of Delray Beach, Florida, and grandchildren Pamela & Mike Marino of Vermont, Glennie and Doug Shann of Canada, Tammi Rosati and Bryan Stripling of Michigan, Daron Stripling of Houston, and Trevor and Liz Stripling of Pacific, Missouri. There are also seven great-grandchildren; Carly, Chad, Gerritt, Lani, Scott, Carmen, and Jesse. Her family and friends will greatly miss this dear and precious person.
