Other two siblings: John Chovanec 1911-1911 Karel Chovanec 1917-1917 ---------------------------------- Raymond Daniel Chovanec, 21, of near Rutersville, met instant death when his car crashed into a concrete bridge culvert Sunday morning about 12:30. The accident happened on Highway 237, in the eastern part of Rutersville. The car struck the culvert on the left side of the road, then struck a tree and overturned on its left side. Young Chovanec was partially pinned under the machine. Chovanec and his close friend and neighbor, Johnny Holub, had been in La Grange Saturday night. They returned to Rutersville and Holub got into his car which he had parked in Rutersville. When going down the country road south of that town, Holub said later, he noticed Chovanec turned around and go back the other way. He then, too, turned around and followed. When he again reached the highway, he noticed car lights shining up into the air to his right, and went to investigate. He found that his friend was dead, pinned under the overturned car. Both young men were employed as truck drivers for the Kimbell-Hausler Co., White House flour and feed merchants here. Chovanec was born near Rutersville July 21, 1927, and lived there all his life. Funeral was held at the family residence Tuesday at 9 a.m., with continued services at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Rev. Frank L. Matustik officiated, Koenig Funeral Home directed, and burial was in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Chovanec of Rutersville, with whom he was residing; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Kaspar and Mrs. Elo Muesse of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Ed. Zbranek of La Grange; and four brothers, Zigmund of Fayetteville, Frank and Adolph Chovanec of La Grange, and Bernard Chovanec of Waller.
