Bio
Rose Bernadine Divis Oborny, 91, died Oct. 12 at Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care of La Crosse. She was born March 12, 1911, on a farm near Schuyler, Neb., the daughter of Matej "Mike" and Frantiska "Frances" Kroupa Divis. She married Rudolph J. Oborny on Nov. 26, 1935, at Schuyler. He died Feb. 3, 1997. A lifetime resident of Rush County, she was a homemaker and assisted her husband in farming. Mrs. Oborny was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society and Catholic Workman Lodge 133, all of Timken. Survivors include 47 nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Divis; one sister, Julia Sindelar; one half brother, Frank Divis; and one half sister, Martha Kudera. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Revs. Charles Mazouch and Henry Baxa officiating. Burial will be at Holy Memorials are suggested to the church or Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care of La Crosse, both in care of the Janousek Funeral Home of La Crosse.
