John Thomas Baker was born on 19 Mar 1872 in Yellville, Marion, Arkansas, his father, Charles Newton Baker and his mother, Sarah Isabel Wood. He married Arbia Zena Holland on 23 Feb 1893 in Flippin, Marion, Arkansas. He died of Angina Pectoris (coronary artery disease) on 14 Mar 1945 in Allen Memerorial Hospital, Bonham, Fannin, Texas and was buried on 16 Mar 1945 in Gober Cemetery, Gober, Fannin County, Texas. The Bonham Daily Favorite Bonham, Texas Thursday, 15 Feb 1945, Page Seven Funeral Services For John Baker Friday Afternoon Funeral services for John P. Baker, 72, of Gober, who died in Allen Memorial Hospital at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, will be held at the Church of Christ at 3 p.m. Friday with Guss Farmer, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Gober cemetery, Mikel-Brown in charge. Mr. Baker was born March 19, 1872, in Arkansas but had resided in the Gober community for the past 39 years. Survivors are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Gracie Miller, Bonham, Rt. 3, Mrs. Lucy Jane Turman, Gober; Mrs. Cressie Turman, Bonham, Rt. (??), two sons, R. V. Baker, Houston, Sgt. Claude Baker, U. S. Army, Eagle Pass, three sisters, Mrs. A. Horne, San Angelo, Mrs. Mamie Wrenn and Mrs. Ida (???), Arkansas, 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
