Houston County Courier - October 10, 2002 Obit for Mrs. Rose Tyer, age 81 of Crockett, passed away Monday, October 7, 2002 in the east TX Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Tyer was born June 16, 1921 in Crockett and had lived in Crockett most of her lifetime. Mrs. Tyer was a graduate of Lovelady High School and she had worked in the grocery business. Mrs. Tyer was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter Barbara Carroll, of Crockett; son Albert C. "Cookie" Tyer and wife Jane, of Slocum; grandchildren Wes Tyer and wife Leslie of Katy, Lisa Tyer, of Slocum, Melody Carroll, of Crockett; great-granddaughter Alex Tyer; special friends Terry Davis, Joe Burson, and Roy Adams; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Preceded in death by her husband Coleman Tyer; parents Martin and Kathryn Svoboda; sisters Georgia LaRue and Millie Steffek; and brother Joe Svoboda. Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Tyer were held Thursday, October 10,, at 10:00 a.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Goss officiating. Interment followed in the Center Hill Cemetery. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
