Cokie Tyer, age 75, of Grapeland, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in the Palestine Regional Hospital. Cokie was born March 14, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Tx to parents, Coleman and Rose Tyer. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Cokie was a longtime truck driver and member and deacon at Denson Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Cokie is survived by wife, of 52 years, Jane Tyer of Grapeland; son, Wes Tyer and wife, Leslie of Sugar Land; daughter, Lisa Missildine and husband, Ben of Slocum; grandchildren, Alex and Lizzie Tyer, Hannah and Levi Missildine; sister, Barbara Carroll of Crockett; niece, Melody Carroll of Crockett; numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Coleman and Rose Tyer. Funeral services for Cokie Tyer will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jamie Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the Muse Cemetery. CALLAWAY ALLEE FUNERAL HOME
