Bio
Mrs. Cordie Platt, wife of W. M. Platt, died at 1:25 o’clock, Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Asa T. High, in this city. Mrs. Platt had been in declining health for several years. Funeral services were held at the High home at 3:30 o’clock Friday afternoon, with religious services by Rev. A.S. Lee, pastor of the First Baptist church of Crockett. Interment was in Center Hill cemetery, in south Houston county. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Waller & Green. A native of Mississippi, Mrs. Platt was 74 years old. She had lived in Houston county many years. She was a member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Platt leaves the husband, two sons, Hardy and John Platt, who live in south Houston county, and a daughter, Mrs. A.T. High of Crockett. She also leaves a number of grandchildren and other relatives. Mrs. Platt was a good Christian woman and her passing is regretted by her many friends. The bereaved have the sympathy of the community. Daughter of Benjamin Franklin Brock, 1820-1868, and Mary Ann Gibbs Brock, 1833-1871.
