Bio
Jesse "Jake" Williams, 78, resident of the Mount Joy Community, died Saturday Nov. 8, 1997 in St. Thomas Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 pm in the chapel of the Williams Mount Pleasant Funeral Home. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 - 9 pm Sunday at the funeral home. A native of Maury County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Lela Bassham Williams. He was a veteran of World War II, retired as a Navy officer. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Edna McAfee Williams of the Mount Joy Community; daughter Mrs. Andy (Charlotte) Sjoholm of Hinsdale, IL; step-daughter Freddie Kelsay of CO; step-sons Joe Bishop and Eddie Bishop, both of Mount Pleasant and David Bishop of Nashville; granddaughter Kathryne Sjoholm of Hinsdale, IL; grandson Eric Sjoholm of Hinsdale, IL; and several step-grandchildren.
