Gettie Faye Phillips Floore passed away on November 12, 2010. She was born on September 3, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, John R. Phillips and Gettie Gandy Phillips of Seminary, MS, sisters Winnie Bullock of Ellisville, MS, Alma Clinton of Hattiesburg, MS, and Gladys Knight of Moselle, MS, brothers Stafford Phillips of Pascagoula, MS, and Webber Phillips of Glendale, MS, and a stepdaughter Marlene Floore Newburn of Orange Grove, MS. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Prentiss G. Floore of Grand Bay, Alabama, two daughters Darlene (Gary) Tucker of Grand Bay, AL and Teresa (Kenny) Sellers of Big Point, MS, two sons Duran Parks of Hurley, MS and Mark (Renee) Floore of Benndale, MS. She is survived by two brothers Jack (Lucy) Phillips and Paul (Retha) Phillips of Seminary, MS. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Melissa (Charles) Miller, Angela (Daryl) Hunt of Hurley, MS, Deanna (Tommy) Chisholm, and Ashley Tucker of Grand Bay, AL, Kailey Parks, and Holly (Wesley) Hall of Pascagoula, MS, John Tyler Sellers, and Savannah Sellers of Hurley, MS, Chris Newburn of Hurley, MS, and Christi, Amy, Brent, and Stevie Newburn, Preston Floore, London Floore, and Cayman Floore of Benndale, MS. She also leaves behind her beloved Great grandchildren Blake McCrory, Brianna McCrory, Tyler Landrum, Carissa Lancaster, Logan Lancaster and Carson Miller of Hurley, MS, Lauren Chisholm and Braelyn Chisholm of Grand Bay, Al, Corbin Hall and Grayson Hall of Pascagoula, MS, she will be greatly missed by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Faye was born in Jones County, MS, and moved to Moss Point, MS, in 1951 where she lived until 1998 when she moved to Grand Bay, Alabama. She worked at International Paper in Moss Point for 37 years. She and her husband Prentiss owned Faye�s Grocery in Moss Point and are the owners of Lakeview Catfish Restaurant in Orange Grove, MS. She was a hard working woman and loved being busy. She loved to work at her home and took much pride in having a beautiful yard and an immaculate home. She was a gifted cook and truly enjoyed cooking for her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They brought her a great deal of joy, and she never tired of singing their praises. She was a beautiful person, who brought a great deal of joy, love, and laughter to her family. Pallbearers will be Blake McCrory, Matthew Shumock, Tyler Landrum, Chris Newburn, Preston Floore, and John Tyler Sellers. Visitation will be Sunday, November 14 from 6pm to 9pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday, November 15 at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
