U.L. GIVENS U.L. Givens, age 94, of Maud, Texas died November 15, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Givens was born April 16, 1915, in Alabama. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, was retired from Giant Distributing Company, worked in home health and was the former owner of Food to Go in Maud. She was preceded in death by a daughter Laverne Goding and a son Donald Givens. She is survived by a daughter Linda Givens; two sisters Jimmie Lou White and Sally Johnson; and a brother Kenneth Warren, all of Maud, Texas; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a special friend Janet Knoll of Santa Rosa, California. Funeral Services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday at The Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Elmer Whalen officiating. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Chapelwood Funeral Home. Published in the Texarkana Gazette Newspaper, November 17, 2009, Texarkana, Texas.
