Frank Boyd Deffenbaugh, 89, of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home in Adair, Oklahoma. He was born on December 27, 1922 in Pryor, Oklahoma, the son of Fred Boyd Deffenbaugh and Grace (Boan) Deffenbaugh. He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army, during World War II. Frank married Bonnie Curts on May 31, 1942 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary the 31st of May. He served as the Rural Mail Carrier in Adair for the U.S. Postal Service for over 35 years. He was well known for going above and beyond his postal duties for his patrons. Frank was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adair, Oklahoma. He was one of the charter founding members of the Adair Boy Scouts and the Adair Little League, coaching for many years. Frank dearly loved his Lord and his family. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather who leaves many memories to cherish. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Adair with Pastor Trish Harris officiating. The family asks memorials be made to the United Methodist Church in his memory. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the home; his children, Marilyn and husband, Fred, Cathy and husband, Dink, Dennis and wife, Vicki; brother, David; sister-in-law, Jan; sisters, Louise and Ina Bruce; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Grace Deffenbaugh; his daughter, Carol and Dr. Phil Kassner; his brother, Ben Deffenbaugh; his sisters, Faye Mitchell and Mary Buffington. ----------------------------- Parent links from Elkco (46920941)
