Bio
Marilyn Palmer was born February 4, 1949 in Pryor to Frank & Bonnie (Curts) Deffenbaugh. She departed this life on January 5, 2015 in Pryor at the age of 65 years 11 months and 1 day. Marilyn was a lifetime resident of Mayes County. She attended school in Adair where she was an excellent basketball player and was Co-Valedictorian of her graduating class of 1967. Marilyn was married to Freddie Palmer on August 19, 1966 at Greenbriar Free Will Baptist Church. Marilyn had worked in the banking business for about 37 years. She worked at Oklahoma State Bank in Vinita, Adair State Bank and she retired from RCB after 18 years of employment. When Marilyn retired she was Executive Vice-President. She was a member of the Optimist Club, United Way, Pryor Academic Excellence Foundation (PEO) and the Adair Baptist Church. Marilyn was a talented seamstress and made her grandchildren clothes and costumes and she also enjoyed cooking. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren and was considered a fabulous "Mema" by all of her grandchildren. Marilyn is loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. Marilyn is survived by husband Freddie, one daughter Angela Fraley and husband Scott of Tulsa, one son Jamie Palmer and wife Holly of Pryor, seven grandchildren Jarrett and wife Liz, Alex, Scotty, Audrey, Brittany, Brody and Madux, her mother Bonnie Deffenbaugh of Adair, sister Cathy Palmer and husband Dink of Adair, brother Dennis Deffenbaugh and wife Vicki of Langley. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father and one sister Carol Kassner.
