Jerome Smith Funeral services for Jerome Smith, 79, of Brashear, were held Thursday in the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Tarrant officiating. Burial was in the Brashear Cemetery. Mr. Smith died Tuesday in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was bom Nov. 6, 1903 in Hopkins County the son of Fate and Ella Toon Smith. A retired farmer and life-long resident of Brashear, he married Edith George on April 30, 1930. He is survived by his wife; a son, Jack Smith of Brashear; a brother, Rayburn Smith of Brashear; two sisters, Mary Martin, of Phoenix, Ariz., Annie Bell George of Brashear, three grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Joe Higginbotham, Harriott Barker, Junior Childers, Charles Corley, L.H. Chapin and Bill Gamer will serve as pallbearers.
