Wilma M. Stara, 91, of Columbus, formerly of Schuyler, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, in Beloit, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 11th, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Schuyler. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel with a wake service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery. Wilma was born March 20, 1921, in Dwight, Nebraska, to Fred and Agnes (Kastner) Kobza. She attended Schuyler Public School. Wilma resided in Colfax County for 35 years and raised 6 children. She worked in the Clarkson Bakery for 10 years and retired in 1985 and moved to Loup City. Wilma is survived by a son, Jerry Cech, of Athens, Alabama; daughters, Rose Ann (Robert) Gall, of Howells, Judy Miller, of Columbus, Jan (Marty) Czaplewski, of Kearney, Lorraine Book, of Creston, and Linda Cech, of Aurora; sister, Eleanor Hruska, of Columbus; 26 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim Kobza and Leo Kobza; sisters, Martha Rerucha, Agnes Fendrick, Rose Svoboda, Mary Masek and Helen Welch; sons-in-law, Roger Miller; and 2 great-grandsons. Memorials are suggested in care of the family. Svoboda Funeral Home, in Schuyler, is in charge of arrangements.
