***************************************** Fremont Tribune (NE) - Saturday, November 2, 2002 SCHUYLER - The funeral for Helen E. Welch, 90, of Schuyler will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Schuyler. She died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at Butler County Health Care Center in David City. Helen Kobza was born Sept. 13, 1912, near Bee. She attended rural school near Dwight. She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Schuyler. Survivors include: two daughters, Ruth Ann Beckius of California and Helen Ptacka; two sons, Ben Welch and Rick Welch, both of Schuyler; four sisters, Agnes Fendrick of Lincoln, Rose Svoboda of Schuyler, Wilma Stara of Columbus and Eleanor Houska of David City; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and two sisters. The Rev. Jerry Leise will officiate Monday's service. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel and continues 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Schuyler Cemetery.
