Bio

Richard R. Jasnoch, 84, of Grand Island, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island. Richard was born on Oct. 24, 1927, on a farm near Ashton, the son of Benjamin and Mary (Koslicki) Jasnoch. Richard is survived by: wife, Arlie Jasnoch of Grand Island; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Wayne Tackett of Glenwood, Iowa, Katherine and Garry Muehlich of Alta Loma, CA and Elizabeth and Lloyd Benjamin of McCook; and sons and daughter-in-law, Chuck Jasnoch of Grand Island, Wayne Jasnoch of Seneca, KS and Tim and Linda Jasnoch of Grand Island; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Richard received his education at St. Francis Catholic School in Ashton and St. Josaphat's Catholic School in Loup City. As a young man he farmed with his father and brother. Richard was united in marriage to Arlie C. Heil on Nov. 15, 1947, at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. Richard farmed from 1947 to 1980. At this time he retired from farming and he and Arlie moved to Grand Island. He then worked at the Third City Sale Barn and later in security at St. Francis Medical Center. Because of failing health he moved to Tiffany Square in 2008, where he lived the rest of his life. Richard was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. He enjoyed dancing, deer hunting and Husker football. Richard was preceded in death by: parents; son, Donald Jasnoch in July 2008; sisters, Delores Maciejewski and Irene Fenten; and brothers, Larry, Leonard and John Jasnoch. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Loup City, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on May 8, 2012
