Bio

William Carroll Ellison was the son of John Ellison and Rebecca Leath Ellison. He married Dicy A Swann April 20 1866 in Jefferson County, TN. Dicy was the daughter of Samuel Swann and Martha Jane Henderson Swann. Dicy died in 1868 after their daughter Laura was born. About 1873 William moved to Johnson County, Arkansas. He later married Martha Emeline Tucker Shoptaw. William Carroll Ellison is buried in the Old Confederate Cemetery, located on private property, and his daughter Laura Ellison Moore is buried next to him.
