Death of Lyle Empey. Idaho, May 3. Mrs. and Mrs. E. S. Empey of the Ammon (Idaho) ward have recently been called to mourn the loss of a loving son, who died in Magrath, Canada, April 22, 1903, of appendicitis. The news of the young man's death came as a thunder stroke to the Saints of the Ammon ward, and the sympathy of this entire community is extended to his grief-stricken wife and parents, who are left the care of two small children. Elder Ephraim Elias Empey (who was familiarly known as Lyle), was born at Lehi, Utah (Territory), Feb. 25, 1878. He was always quiet and unassuming and bore a good reputation. He moved with his family from here to Canada last September (1902), where he had purchased a splendid farm. His remains were shipped here for burial and were accompanied by Henry Hawes and wife. The funeral was largely attended in the Ammon meeting house, where consoling and appropriate remarks were made by Elders Heber Austin, James Southwick, John F. Norton and David Campell.
