Bio

Alzbeta (Czech for Elizabeth), "Beta", immigrated with her family in 1876 at age two from Bohemia. She was married to Joseph Sles on November 3, 1897 by Rev. William J. Skocek, Rector of the Catholic Church in Industry, Texas in a double wedding with her older brother, Vincence, who married Frantiska Sedlacek. She and Joseph had four children, Frances Edith (1899), Anna May (1902), Mary Julia (1904) and Willie Joseph (1907). She died in childbirth on November 11, 1909 and was buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Latium, Washington County, Texas. Contributed by Carey D. Weber.
